800th Anniversary TRUSTS & GRANTS

St Mary’s Hook 800+ Project

Phase One – Internal Upgrades

Making sure St Mary’s is fit for the 21st century and our 800th anniversary in 2025 has been our vision for many years, we are delighted to have been successful in our bids to some incredible Trust and Grant making organisations over the last 12 months, which, together with the funds raised by our amazing local community, has meant we are now able to commence phase one of our renovation and hope to have completed the internal upgrades by Easter 2025.

The renovation includes installing an internal, accessible toilet, levelling floors and installing a kitchenette. We’ve also removed the pews, allowing us to replace them with chairs, meaning the resulting space can be much more flexibly used for concerts, meetings, by our local school and other community groups.

All of which ensures that St Mary’s in not only fit for the 21st century, but ensures that our building will be able to be used by the whole community.

Installing these facilities means that our beautiful space can be much more widely and we have so many ideas for the future sustainability of our church.
