Dave's Top Tips
800+ is our restoration project which aims to get the church into good shape for the next century. (details from button above).
To ensure you have the best possible experience and complete your challenge, Dave has compiled the following top tips!
1. Start steady training in boots and socks you will wear on the day, also complete a minimum of two,10 mile walks, preferably incorporating hills.
2. Ensure you trim your toe-nails the week before (to save losing them!) wear and train in good socks. Moisturise your feet every day the week leading up to event.
3. Water bottle and packed lunch, take a variety of chocolate / energy / flapjack bars, trail mix is also good to keep you going. You will be able to top up your water at check points on route.
4. On the day have a positive, determined and strong mental attitude that you are going to complete the challenge! Don’t forget your sense of humour, you will have great enjoyment, photos and memories.
5. We have a support team and safety vehicles, if you have any problems or difficulties they will look after you.
