How to Maximise your fund raising

We asked Liz, who raised £10 000 for a dam project in Africa by walking 2.5km with her Puppy every day for a month for her tips on raising such a huge sum.

Ask people to support you.

Don’t be afraid to ask again and again,

Remind them that the event is coming up by word of mouth, social media or any means that suits you

Write to all your relatives, telling them you are fundraising, why it matters to you and asking them to support you

Send email to friends and contacts telling them you are fundraising, why it matters to you and asking them to support you

Make it easy to give you money, create a very personal Just Giving page that explains what you are doing and why, in your own style and voice.

Another easy way for friends to give is to make a BACS transfer details on our Giving page or via link top left

Or ask people to give through the church website – as you can see they can find out about the project here too.

Create a simple A4 flier that you can send or give to friends. This could contain all of the above information

Challenge a friend to walk with you, beat your time, and beat the amount you can raise
