 Give to General Fund

Our General Fund provides money to enable us to pay our vicar, our running costs, our expenses and our regular maintenance. By giving to this (either a one off donation or regulary – say monthly ) enables us to provide our services and to maintain this magnificent building.

Often donations at funerals are shared half to the charity of the family’s choosing and half to the church, for which we are most grateful.

Give to 800 + Restoration Project

You make the choice

Our General Fund provides money to enable us to pay our vicar, our running costs, our expenses and our regular maintenance.

BUT sometimes people wish to give to a specific project or give a particular item to the church, sometimes in memory of someone.

So our accounts have within them restricted funds which can only be spent for the purpose they were given for.

This is how the funding for the restoration project is being done, so if you give to this fund ( more information button top left ) it will not be used for General funds but just towards the restoration. Similarly if you give to a funeral donations money will not simply go to general funds, (see right and on that page).

If you have another specific item or project you would like your money given in a ‘restricted’ way to please contact us to discuss this.

 

NOTE : We have to raise almost all the money to run our church and keep our building up locally.

A small amount of central church of England funds is currently provided toward the salary of our vicar BUT this is getting less and less.

If you want a church to be here and a vicar to be available for you and our community, please help us provide this service by giving in some way to us.

Note : some of Hook Church monies are adminstered by the Diocese of Sheffield (our regional church organisation). These include the vicar’s wages and monies which help us provide other local services. OUR GENERAL fund does not more widely support the work of the Diocese of Sheffield.
Baptism Donations

If you are giving at a Baptism, it helps our audit trail if you give using the button above, rather than the General Fund button. The money goes to the same place and is used for the same purposes (see left).

Funeral Donations

If you are giving at a Funeral often the funds are shared with one or more other charity.

It helps ensure the money goes to these places if you give using this page or our website and then to the individual’s causes.
